NICK CARTER recently told “People” magazine that he’s living a SOBER lifestyle these days . . . because he’s been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, which is basically a viral infection of the heart.

Nick admitted that he’s slipped a few times with ALCOHOL . . . and one of those times apparently happened two weeks ago, on his birthday.  That night, he was taking shots of 151, onstage, at a club in Hollywood.   Peep the video right here:
