Hey everyone, I will not be on the radio Thursday May 15th. Suge White will be filling in for me, G-Mo will still be giving you “sexy traffic reports” at 4:30p and 5:20p and I will return on Friday May 16th.

Many of you have heard me talk about my cousin who is in The Marines and has been on his 2nd tour in Iraq. As I am writing this, he is airborn on his way back to the land of the free and the home of the brave. His outfit returns to Camp Pendleton tonight just after midnite and after I get off the air tonight I am making the trip out to San Diego so I can be there to welcome him home and thank him (and the rest of the troops) for his bravery, his sacrafice and for coming home safe. I am nervous, I don’t know why, maybe its just me being emotional…I mean this is my COUSIN. My FAMILY. We were always close growing up and when it comes right down to it, in life ALL you have is your FAMILY.

Everyone has their opinions about the  war, Iraq, The President, etc but what it all comes down to is this; everyday, members of our families are in, coming back from , or heading out to a war zone and no one is sure who will come back alive and who will not come back at all. Maybe that is why I feel the way I do. This was his second time in Iraq and his second time coming home. Maybe its not nerves, maybe its relief….but either way please keep my cousin (and everyone elses cousins, sons, daughters) in your prayers tonight. I cannot express how much it means to me.
